Dear friends of International Child Care,
My name is Steve Good. I am the pastor at Channahon United Methodist Church in Channahon, Illinois, as well as a past ICC-USA board member. I am excited to announce that Channahon UMC has just completed a major building expansion project; it is a Fellowship Wing that will house a Thrift Shop and a multi-use room for a variety of church and community events.
Because God has blessed us with the resources to build this new facility (the sale of 80 acres of farmland willed to the church as a planned gift), we would like to dedicate our first major event in the new space as a blessing for others: a fundraiser for the construction of the new Grace Children’s Hospital.
The event will be an old-fashioned Barn Dance with an all-u-can-eat Soup Buffet on Sunday February 8th from 5-7 pm. I will be calling the dance, and a live band of fiddle, guitar, and hammer dulcimer will provide the music. The soup buffet will be run by the church’s MEET group who experienced the incredible ministry of ICC first hand when they visited Grace Children's Hospital in March 2014. The group calls itself “Je Kale,” loosely translated as “Eyes Wide Open” in Haitian Creole.
Even if you cannot attend the event, or live too far away, you can still donate to the fundraiser for the new construction of Grace Children's Hospital. Visit the ICC website at: click here to make an online donation. Be sure to designate your gift for New Construction of Grace Children’s Hospital.
Please join me in supporting ICC and Grace Children's Hospital. For more information, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or the ICC office at email@example.com and 269-382-9960.
