Some pretty spectacular kids wow-ed us last week at Lakeside Chataqua when in just two and a half days they raised $1,468.68 for children of Haiti and the Dominican Republic.
As part of the West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church's annual conference every year, International Child Care hosts a vacation bible school program. This year, ICC Communications Director Kirsten McIlvenna, Board Member Rachel Mills, and two volunteers taught the kindgarten through fifth grade students about how to be the Salt of the Earth.
Each child then took what they learned to spread the news about Grace Children's Hospital to the participants of the conference and collected donations to support their friends in Haiti.
Another highlight of the week was when they got to go up on stage in front of thousands to perform the song they learned that week, "If You're Salty and You Know It." We think you may recognize the tune. Check out our Facebook videos to see a recording.
We thank our volunteers, our students, conference participants, and all that gave last week as part of our annual event. ICC couldn't do what it does without all of you!
