Meet the Race for Grace Team: Cheridy Dodd

When she signed up to ride in the Race for Grace, Cheridy’s thoughts weren’t on the actual bike ride—in fact, she doesn’t even own a bike! As a first time rider, she’s using the event as a way to raise funds for a mission she cares deeply about: caring for the children at Grace Children’s Hospital.

Cheridy will be joining International Child Care’s Race for Grace team in the annual Hotter’n Hell Hundred in Wichita Falls, Texas on August 27th. Cheridy will be riding alongside members of her church, First United Methodist of McKinney, Texas, another dedicated supporter of ICC programs, to raise funds for the children and families of Haiti and the Dominican Republic.

When we asked her if she was an avid cyclist, she said absolutely not.

“The children that are in the care at Grace Children’s Hospital are my inspiration and my heart is forever there,” she said.

On a recent mission trip to Haiti, Cheridy was able to meet the children and staff at the hospital, and believes that obstacles such as the lack of resources are the most significant. Cheridy’s objective for Race for Grace is to make a commitment to support Grace Children’s Hospital and to make it a priority in her life and her community.

Thank you Cheridy for your continued support of Grace Children’s Hospital and your dedication to our mission here at ICC!  Participants such as Cheridy show that you don’t have to be an avid bike rider to be involved in Race for Grace; you just have to have a heart for helping others.
